The Republicans Will Take Back Congress In 2010

“But we will continue to fight each battle in Congress because it is only by blunting Obama’s momentum and by demonstrating to the voters of America how their Democratic members of Congress are only automatic votes for socialism that we have a chance to triumph in 2010.”

PolitiFact.com Is A Liberal Website

PolitiFact.com’s “lie of the year” is my ‘death panel’ statement.

Senator Coburn writes: “Every American, not just seniors, should know that the rationing provisions in the Reid bill will not only reduce their quality of life, but their life spans as well.”

If a Dr. Coburn says that the life span of every American is going to be reduced because of ObamaCare, then how is it a lie to say that ObamaCare has death panels? Reducing every American’s lifespan by rationing has the same effect as a death panel. People are going to die sooner than they otherwise would have had ObamaCare not passed! Declaring a reasonable statement “lie of the year” reveals the true colors of PolitiFact.com.

Democrats Do Not Care If They Lose Big In 2010

“The entitlement crazes of the 1930s and 1960s also caused a backlash, but liberal Democrats know the programs of those periods survived. They are more than happy to sacrifice a few Blue Dogs, a Blanche Lincoln, a Michael Bennet, if they can expand government so that in the long run it benefits the party of government.”

Iran Is Going To Get The Bomb

“Iran spurns every overture from the U.S. and continues to develop WMD while abusing its neighbors. In response, the Administration, which had set a December deadline for diplomacy, now says it opposes precisely the kind of sanctions it once promised to impose if Iran didn’t come clean, never mind overwhelming bipartisan support in Congress. For an explanation of why Iran’s behavior remains unchanged, look no further.”

Liberals Grand Strategy

Liberals hate the Reagan revolution and want to reverse it. They will do this by exploding spending which will require pre-Reagan tax rates, thereby reversing the Reagan revolution.

“Our concern is that the Administration and Congress view this debt as a way to force a permanently higher tax base for decades to come. The liberal grand strategy is to use their accidentally large majorities this year to pass new entitlements that start small but will explode in future years. U.S. creditors will then demand higher taxes—taking income taxes back to their pre-Reagan rates and adding a value-added tax too. This would expand federal spending as a share of GDP to as much as 30% from the pre-crisis 20%.”

Cap And Trade Will Increase Foreign Aid

“Just as climate change is being hijacked in developed countries by socialists and liberals who want to regulate business and utilities, so it is being exploited by less developed countries as a pretext for more foreign aid.”

Increasing Government Spending Does Not Stimulate The Economy

“…Alberto Alesina and Silvia Ardagna have recently conducted a comprehensive analysis of the issue. In an October study, they looked at large changes in fiscal policy in 21 nations in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. They identified 91 episodes since 1970 in which policy moved to stimulate the economy. They then compared the policy interventions that succeeded — that is, those that were actually followed by robust growth — with those that failed.

The results are striking. Successful stimulus relies almost entirely on cuts in business and income taxes. Failed stimulus relies mostly on increases in government spending.
