“House Republicans are predicting that Pelosi will bring health care to a vote in a few days. This is our LAST CHANCE to stop it.”
Social Security and Medicare were unpopular when they first passed. They have now become popular and Democrats have successfully used Social Security and Medicare to defeat Republicans by accusing them of cutting these entitlement programs. Democrats hope that by passing ObamaCare they will have another popular entitlement program to defeat Republicans with.
“On a Sunday talk show this past weekend, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was asked if she had the votes to pass Obama’s health care bill. Her answer was a one-word “yes.””
“Harry Reid is going to use the reconciliation procedure to jam it through with 51 votes — and he will get them. All the hype about how difficult it will be is to distract us from the real battle which will come in the House.”
“For example, we said from the start that it was going to be important for us to be consistent in saying to people if you can have your — if you want to keep the health insurance you got, you can keep it, that you’re not going to have anybody getting in between you and your doctor in your decision making. And I think that some of the provisions that got snuck in might have violated that pledge.”

2. Use reconciliation to fix the Senate bill after Obama has signed it into law.
“I have no doubt House liberals, despite their skepticism, will fade under pressure from Pelosi and Obama. They will do their duty and pass the Senate bill, whatever their current posturing.”
“The apparent reluctance of the House Democrats to pass the Senate version will evaporate once Obama puts his weight behind the bill and Pelosi starts to twist arms.”
“He’ll probably be able to pass health care either by Democratic dithering in certifying Brown’s election or by ramming through the bill while he’s en route to Washington on the shuttle.”
